Responding to multifaceted issues in LDCs: QFFD signs two-track project agreements with UN-OHRLLS towards advancing the Doha Programme of Action

Qatar Fund for Development in partnership with the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS (UN-OHRLLS) signs two-track project agreements contributing a total of USD 21 Million towards building resilience in LDCs and enhancing a system of food stockholding to address food insecurity, targeting 44 least developed countries (LDCs).
The projects aim to strengthen resilience in LDCs through support for national adaptation plan formulation and implementation, strengthening early warning systems, and building financial resilience. The projects additionally aim to promote the readiness to respond and mitigate food emergencies through setting up an innovative food stockholding mechanism for LDCs. They also aim to strengthen the agri-food systems in LDCs and enable LDCs to better prevent, anticipate and absorb food crisis by enhancing national level preparedness.
